CROSS Mission Statement: To provide a Community Resource One-Stop System for Dallas community members impacted by incarceration and to make a better quality of life for all citizens of Dallas.

News

Chronology: CROSS was established conceptually through Operation Oasis, www.operation-oasis.org, in January, 2004. In August, 2006, the City of Dallas joined CROSS by way of "Project Reconnect", a city based reentry program. On April, 2008, CROSS and Safer Dallas Better Dallas (SDBD), www.saferdallas.com., agreed to partner together and make Dallas one of the safest cities in America within ten years.

On September 3, 2008, at the request of: Dallas City Mayor Tom Leppert, Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle and in cooperation with Dallas District Attorney Craig Watkins, CROSS and SDBD created a new entity called DOORS: Dallas One-stop Optimized Reentry System. CROSS which, as of 11/8/2008, consists of approximately 30 faith based and community based non-profit organizations through the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, and SDBD, which has a steering committee of over 50 community and civic leaders is looking to join forces with a proposed Dallas County Justice Advisory Board.
